The 5th annual C. R. U. N. K. Fest 2009, Christ Raising Up New Kids, sponsored by New Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Shelbyville, Kentucky, received a huge "praise wave" last night from children, youth and young adults, and even those experiencing a few aches and pains. More than 500 hundred people attended the opening night of this two-day event that drew youth ministries from a good number of Kentucky and Louisville area churches. This year's theme is "Holy Gras, The New Face of Youthful Praise." Revs. Kilen and Cassandra Gray state the event, "was designed to help youth take off their masks and praise God in their own way."
A number of vendors are providing everything from dental information and free toothbrushes for kids to vocational rehabilitation services for people with disabilities needing help with job placement, books, t-shirts and college literature.
