Are You Sitting On the Premises Or Standing On the Promises of God?

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and forgive their sin and will heal their land" 2 Chronicles 7:14

2 Chronicles 7:14 speaks to the people of God who are called by His name. Clearly, God was not speaking to the unsaved, but to the saved. It starts, "If my people...." This promise was originally given to Solomon concerning the children of Israel. God said through Solomon that if His people would do four things, humble themselves, pray, and seek His face, and turn from their wicked ways, He would forgive their sin and heal their land. This says to us that if we would humble themselves, pray and seek God's face, in a spirit of repentance, then so much of the brokenness that we are experiencing today would be forgiven and healed. What an awesome promise this is!

The word 'if" that starts this favorite passage of scripture is found in the middle of these three words, "life," "strife," and "gift." We know that life is "iffy," strife abounds, and gifts are not being used. These things happen when we sit on the premises instead of stand on the promises of God. When we sit on the premises, we are tossed to and fro by the waves and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming (Eph. 4:14). When we sit on the premises, our young people are lead down diver's paths into the strange, dark world of witchcraft, cults, and the occult. When we sit on the premises, our votes are not cast at the ballot box, and we move three steps back instead of three steps forward.
This is why it is necessary that as intercessors and prayer warriors especially, and as God's children in general that we remain humble and on our knees before Yahweh, our Almighty God, seeking His face daily and not just His hand. What happens to us is predicated to a large degree on our relationship with God and on us doing our part in it.

Let us claim 2 Chronicles 7:14 and all of God's promises today. Let us not sit on the premises at home, at work, at school, at church, on election day, nor here in this ministry, but stand on the promises of God. If we do our part, then God promises to forgive our sin and heal the land. What an awesome God we serve! To Him be glory and honor, dominion and power both now and forever! Amen.

KY Early Voting Rules & Elsewhere

Min. Angela Lee Price
Early voting is up significantly in many states. Have you vote already or do you plan to vote early this election?
Early Voting Rules
Early voting takes place in person before election day at specified polling places and (in some states) satellite locations. Thirty-two states and the District of Columbia offer "no excuse" early voting - voters in these states do not need to provide a reason for voting before election day. A handful of states offer early voting only to voters who have a valid excuse for being unable to vote in person on election day.
Early voting is sometimes called early in-person voting, in-person absentee voting, one-stop voting or advance voting.
Here are Kentucky's Early Voting Rules:
Yes! You may vote early in person using a voting machine by absentee ballot;
You must submit application for absentee ballot at least 7 days before the election.  You have until 6:00 PM on election day to submit your ballot either in person or by mail if:
  • You will be out of the county on election day;
  • You are Military, their Dependents, or an Overseas Citizen;
  • You are Military personnel confined to base and learn of your confinement within seven days or less of an election;
  • You are a Student who resides outside the county or a resident who temporarily resides outside of the state, and will not be in the county on Election Day;
  • You are a voter or the spouse of a voter who has surgery scheduled that will require hospitalization on Election Day;
  • You are a pregnant woman in your third trimester.
OR you are one of the following:
  • Precinct election officer appointed to serve in precinct other than his own
  • Alternate precinct officer
  • County Board of Elections’ members
  • County Board of Elections’ staff
  • Deputy county clerk
  • State Board of Elections’ staff
Early voting starts 12 (or more) working days before the election and ends on election day.
Contact your Local Election Official to learn more about early voting in your area.

How Many Crosses Does It Take to Kill A Vampire Today?

By: Min. Angela Lee Price
Scripture says, "Those who do evil things hate the light and will not come to the light, because they do not want their evil deeds to be shown up" (John 3:20, GNV).

Many people love to go to masquerade balls and parties dressed as witches, warlocks, ghouls, and vampires, especially at Halloween. The bats will be flying this year, no doubt.  And there'll be the quinessential dracula introduction or two,  "Good Evening.  Let me introduce myself."   With shows like Vampire Diaries, Twilight, True Blood, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and movies like Blade to name a few, the subject of vampires is being pushed by Hollywood now more than ever.  A vampire is a human who feeds on the blood of other humans. Vampires historically sleep by day and roam the earth at night.  Vampires have supernatural powers and can live for thousands of years unless killed in the proper manner, so goes folklore.  As we prepare to give a Christian defense for the season of Halloween, let's explore the subject of vampires.

Are vampires real?  Do humans actually drink human blood?  What does the Bible have to say?

In the movies back in the day, all you needed was a cross and some garlic to protect yourself from the draculas and vampires of old.  Today's vampires attend vampire "clubs" and go on blood-drinking binges.  In the cable series, True Blood, werewolves drink blood too. It's like they're part human, part werewolf and part vampire. How many crosses must you wear to turn back one of them?  Does the size of the cross matter?  Must a stake be driven in their hearts to kill them?  What are some of the disturbing new trends in vampire flicks today, or in the news concerning murders associated with vampirism?  What should the Christian response be to anyone caught up in vampirism and the occult?

Please read the article Vampires:  Hollywood Is Pushing Them, But Are They Real?  by a former "vampire" turned Christian.   Let's begin give a Christian defense for the season of Halloween.

A Prayer for the Election/Get Out to Vote - October 28th

A Prayer for the Election/Get Out to Vote - October 28th
By:  Rev. Michael Lee, Joshua Tabernacle Baptist Church, Louisville, KY
Heavenly Father, we thank you for all of the grace and mercy you have bestowed upon us.  We thank you for allowing us to live in one of the greatest nations in history at one of the greatest times in history.  We understand the awesome responsibility that you have given us to elect our own leaders. Oh Father, we pray that as we approach Election Day, that you will guide us with your divine insight and wisdom to choose those leaders who are after your own heart.  Help us to choose leaders who will govern according to your will and way.  Oh Lord, please bless each of the candidates and guide our chosen leaders by your divine providence.  Empower them with hearts for all of the people, especially those who are downtrodden and forgotten, locked up and locked out, and for the defenseless.
Oh Lord, indeed you have given us an awesome responsibility, so I beseech you to help us to move out in mass as a mighty army inspired by you to every polling place come rain or shine. Mobilize us, Oh God as one body acting in unison to bring about your divine will in this country. We humbly place ourselves into your hands knowing that no matter who becomes president, senator, judge, or elected official, who has confessional authority, that Jesus is still on the throne and your will will be done. It is in the matchless and marvelous name of Jesus I pray.  Amen.

A Prayer for the Incarcerated - October 27th

A Prayer For the Incarcerated - October 27th (Abbreviated)
By:  Maurice Jackson, Worship Director, Bread of Life Church, Kansas City, MO
Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus I pray for all those who are incarcerated. Let Christ be preached to every inmate, in every jail and prison across this nation! I pray that they would confess and repent of their sin against You, and for crimes committed against others. Let them respond to the gospel that announces that Christ came to free those held captive to sin and spiritual bondage (Lk 4:18). I pray that MANY prisoners be converted to Christianity- being delivered from unwholesome alliances that perpetuate negativity and violence. Bless those who are incarcerated to be delivered from bad habits, entanglements, addictions, bondages and strongholds of every kind! May they turn away from any ungodliness and allow You to lead them in righteousness (Ps 23:3). I pray they humble themselves and come to Your throne of grace and find mercy and helpful intervention in their situation of confinement (Heb 4:16).
Your Word teaches us that You, God, have gotten glory out of the lives of various men who were imprisoned. May inmates be encouraged to know that Joseph became a great government official after serving time from a false accusation. And from a jail cell, the Apostle Paul wrote the inspiring letters that make up most of the Books of the New Testament- which still impact countless lives (Eph 4:1). So, what the devil intends for a bad outcome, God will turn around for a good outcome (Gen 50:20). And though the confined be chained and shackled over the course of a seemingly endless sentence, help them Lord, to know that being in Christ makes them truly free indeed (John 8:36). Let the greatest part of their rehabilitation be the work of the Holy Spirit renewing their inward being- for where The Spirit of The Lord is, there is LIBERTY. In the powerful name of JESUS I pray, Amen!

Don't Give Up On Your Tulips In Mum Season

We give up too easily. We want eveything quick, fast, and in a hurry. No one wants to wait anymore.  We want what we want when we want it, and how we want it. I, however, have found myself singing this week one of my favorite songs by gospel artist Fred Hammond, "They That Wait."  It is based on Isaiah 40:31, "They that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint."   That song puts me in such a good mood, and by the end of it I feel confident my season is coming.

It is mum season! Look around. Mums are everywhere, little ones, big ones, and very, very BIG ones. You can pray for tulips in September and October, but that won't get you very far. You are more likely to get tulips in March. That's because March is tulip season. If God is giving you mums right now, thank Him anyway even though you didn't ask for them. Don't throw a tantrum, pout or get mad with God.  God is not a genie, nor cosmic bellhop, nor Santa Claus, nor is He an ATM machine!  Don't grow weary!  Wait on the Lord! Renew your strength.  Try appreciating the mum for what it is.  Mums will beautify your garden or your home, just like tulips. Renew your strength by count your blessings! And wait on the Lord.  Thank God for your mums, and take care of them!  He didn't have to give them to you, but He did! We serve a good God who knows what to give and just when too give it.  Learn to appreciate the season that your in.

Claim the promise is Isaiah 40:31, and keep on praying, and praying. Pray persistently in September, in October, in November, in December, in January...keep talking with God about tulips, the pretty colors, and different textures, and how you plan to water and take care of them. Then say, in March, in tulip season, or shall I say in due season, the Holy Spirit just may give you tulips.  God just may give you double for your trouble! Just ask Job. And, I'm a living witness of what God will do when you persist, according to the Lord's will in prayer.    Don't give up on your tulips in mum season!

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8:
To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven:
A time to be born,
And a time to die;
A time to plant,
And a time to pluck what is planted;
A time to kill,
And a time to heal;
A time to break down,
And a time to build up;
A time to weep,
And a time to laugh;
A time to mourn,
And a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones,
And a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace;
And a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to gain,
And a time to lose;
A time to keep,
And a time to throw away;
A time to tear,
And a time to sew;
A time to keep silence,
And a time to speak;
A time to love,
And a time to hate;
A time of war,
And a time for peace.

A Prayer for Pastors and Churches - October 26th

By:  Rev.  Linda Moore, More and Moore Love Ministries
Dear Heavenly Father, We humble ourselves as your Church under your mighty hand. Asking you to forgive us for our sins and shortcomings, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Let us draw near to you with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts examined from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with living water. We pray Your Word dwell in us richly. Fill us with the knowledge of your will oh God. We pray for all wisdom and spiritual understanding in the Church, that we may live and conduct ourselves in a manner worthy of you, fully pleasing you, and being fruitful in every good work for your Glory. God renew our spirit and our minds that we put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering: bearing with and forgiving one another. Bring your Church together in the unity of Faith. Help us to respect, encourage and recognize those who labor among us. Teach us to love and not hate for their work in your Kingdom. Father put your Church on one accord that we all speak the same thing, with no divisions among us, standing fast in your Holy Spirit, striving together in faith to win lost souls for your Kingdom.
We come against all murmuring, complaining, and walking after our own lusts. Help us to be rich in good works, ready to give and willing to share. We pray that the whole body be knit and joined together in your Love. Oh God we pray for every Angel of The Church, on an assignment to Pastor your Flock. We pray for every leader that submits to there authority as they serve you God. Preparing your people for the Bride’s Groom is coming and we want to be ready. As we run with endurance the race that is set before us, setting our minds on things above and not on things on the earth. But pressing toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God. Putting on the whole armor of God that we may stand against the devil. That we will speak forth Your Word with great boldness and that you will stretch forth your hand to heal, that signs and wonders may be done in the Name of Your Son Jesus. We give you all the Glory and Honor In Jesus Name, Amen!

Praise Defeats the Enemy

By: Min. Angela Lee Price
Beloved, I am here to encourage you to praise your way through that troubling situation, trial, or storm!  Praise recognizes Jesus Christ as the solution to our problems.  He is bigger than cancer, bigger than unemployment, bigger than a broken marriage, bigger than anything you are facing.  Is there anything to hard for God?  Praise uplifts the troubled spirit!  Praise does so much more because when you praise sometimes you won't have to fight the battle at all! Isn't God good! Here it is....

In 2 Chronicles 20, the text says beginning at verse 21, "After consulting the people, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord and to praise him for the splendor of his holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying: "Give thanks to the Lord, for his love endures forever."

God loves it when you fast, pray, and seek His face, and He loves it when you praise Him. Jehoshaphat takes the people's advice and he orders men to sing to the Lord. When they did that, God set ambushes against the three nations coming against the Israelites, and they turned on each other, and destroyed each other!

This is almost identical to what happened in the war Gideon's army did not have to fight in Judges Chapter 7. God sent 300 men against a vast army of 30,000 Midianites. God confused the enemy with trumpets, torches, and timing! The army prepared for war, processed to the battlefield, and positioned themselves, but they did not fight! And God got the glory! When praises go up, blessings come down!

So while you're at work, why not offer up a sacrifice of praise.  While you're on your lunch break, lift holy hands.  Offer up authentic praise, praise that is heart-felt, consistent and genuine.  Hebrews 13: 15-16 state, "Through Him then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name. 16 And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.…"
Praise defeats the enemy! Praise is a mighty weapon in spiritual warfare. Now, praise your way through and share the Good News that Jesus saves!

Sermon Recap: Praise Your Way Through

Praise the Lord, everyone!!!  Indeed, all praise, glory and honor to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for what he has already done for us.  He rode into Jerusalem as the Lamb of God and did not turn around; rode in and filled prophecy so we can trust him at his word; and rode in to give us life more abundantly.  I, too was so inspired by the Breast Cancer Awareness worship service on Sunday at Christian Healthcare Center West here in Louisville, by the number of choir members from different ministries combined in song to lift praises to our God, and by the number of staff and residents who worshipped in spirit and in truth.  Thanks to Chaplain Michael Lee for the invitation to speak from the subject,  Praise Your Way Through!, and to clinician Michael Maestro Young for his leadership, musical gifts, and love for our senior saints and the residents at the facility.  I encouraged everyone to keep their eyes on Jesus and praise Him with authentic praise through all of life's circumstances and challenges. We serve a God who is bigger than cancer.  It's Monday and I am praising my way through!  Jesus saves!
Residents at Christian Health Care Center West enjoyed pray, praise, and the preached Word on Sunday, October 23rd.
Ms. Bessie Palmer, President, Louisville Gospel
Choral Union, with Min. Angela.  Members of the Louisville Gospel Choral Union, West End Baptist Church Inspiration Choir and Michael Young & In God's Presence combined voices at the worship service.
