COGIC Bishop Patterson Fought Good Battle - Dies at 67

AP -- G.E. Patterson, the presiding bishop of the Church of God in Christ and a minister for almost 50 years, died of heart failure Tuesday, the church announced. He was 67.

The church said in a statement that Patterson died at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis.
Patterson was hospitalized in January for an undisclosed illness. He told his followers in 2005 that he suffered from prostate cancer. Click link COGIC Bishop G.E. Patterson Dies At 67 for more. Click Funeral Arrangements for G.E. Patterson for details on memorial services Thursday-Saturday, March 29th-31st. All services will be held at Temple of Deliverance Church Of God In Christ at 369 G. E. Patterson in Memphis, Tennessee.

In this three-minute sermon except posted on youtube.com on January 27, 2007, Patterson shared Advice Before the Battle. He said,
"We all have issues, but don't become preoccupied with life's issues. You have a battle to fight. If there is anything at all that messes up the body of Christ and local churches, and religious organizations, we get in mind it all about me. But the Lord said you gotta deny self... Realize the battle is bigger than your issues...When the battle is raging, give glory to His name. While pain is in your body, praise Him! When it looks like the enemy has won and their shouting over your defeat, praise the Lord. Praise Him! He'll send an angel on the run...."
Bishop Gilbert Earl Patterson: Absent from the body; present with the Lord.

Remember, it is not Mohammad, Buddha, Confucius, nor New Age that saves. Jesus saves!
