A picture of me with Rev. Marcia Morton and video from the opening worship service last night at Those Preachin Women, Coke Memorial United Methodist Church, Louisville, Kentucky. Rev. Morton's sermon was entitled, "The Characteristics of A Wise Woman," based on 1 Samuel 25: 32-34.
The theme of this year's event is "Wisdom, Warfare, and Worship: It's for the Kingdom." Rev. Marcia Morton, Spadling Memorial AMEZ Church; Rev. Lesa Dae, St. Stephen Church; and Rev. Caassundra Gray, New Mt. Zion Baptist Church preached on wisdon and Abigail from l Samuel 25 and Proverbs 2. The four-night event continues through Friday, July 1th with workshops and preaching from some of the region's most gifted preaching women.
