Approximately 300 citizens of Louisville's homeless community received free breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the second annual Labor Day event, Bar-Be-Que Under the Bridge to Feed the Homeless held at Brook and Gray streets under the Interstate 65 bridge across from Norton Hospital in downtown Louisville. Attendees enjoyed plenty of food, fun, and fellowship that included hamburgers, hot dogs, donuts, popcorn, cotton candy, and snow cones, inflatable bounceys, a live gospel music, and plenty of give-aways at this day-long festival sponsored by Renea Motley Ministries.
"Bar B Q Under the Bridge for the Homeless, is a labor of love that provides a day of Labor Day holiday festivities for an often forgotten community. The goal is to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost in the hopes that many will be saved and to encourage the saved to keep the faith," stated Min. Motley (Photo left below with Min. Angela).
The festival got underway at 11:00 a.m. with Jesus Saves Ministries founder Min. Angela Lee Price rendering the opening prayer. Jesus Saves Ministries partnered in this event supplying ten "Blessings In a Basket" gift baskets that included toiletries, Christian t-shirts, Bibles, Daily Bread devotionals, and information sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. "We were glad to be of service to help make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate. Matthew 25 tells us to serve the "Least of These" and that's why we are here today," Min. Price stated.
