A Prayer for Those Suffering in Abuse and Sexual Harassment

Rev. Angela Lee Price

Heavenly Father,

You are Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. You are God of all creation. There is none like You! Father, hear our prayer.

Forgive our sins, Father. Use us inspite of our faults, inspite of our weaknesses that others may see You and ask, “What must I do to be saved?” Cleanse us, Father, and hear our prayer.

I come to you on behalf of those suffering in abuse of all types, physical, verbal and sexual. There are many suffering behind closed doors, victims and perpetrators alike. Father, hear our prayer. Many families and individuals are living in silent torment for fear of retaliation, for fear of abandonment, for fear of rejection. Father, they have no reason to fear for You are our Light and Salvation. Father, hear our prayer.

Hurting people often hurt those closest to them, those they profess to love the most. Father, hear our prayer. But Your Word says in 2 Timothy 1:7 You have not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. Father, hear our prayer. The mind that abuses a loved one is not of you. The clinched fist of physical abuse, the cunning tongue of verbal abuse, and the wicked instruments of sexual harassment and abuse are not of you. Oh, Lord, hear our prayer!

Bring healing to broken relationships, mend broken hearts and minds. Bring faith, hope and love, but, above all, more love. Keep death at bay in families today. We trust Your will to be done.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Remember, it is not Mohammad, Buddha, Confucius, nor New Age that saves. Jesus Saves!
