Bill Price, Sales Manager, WLOU and WLLV Radio Stations and Managing Partner of The Event Company, is an award-winning broadcaster and 2008 Stellar Award nominee. One of the most famous voices in Louisville broadcasting, his legendary career includes stints at Clear Channel, Cox, and Blue Chip Radio. His career began as a morning show host at WLOU Radio under owner William E. Summers, III in 1977. In 1983, WLOU became the number one rated station in the market, and a top ten nationally rated station.
Bill has occupied several key radio broadcasting positions including, general manager, operations manager, sales manager, program director and consultant. He helped launch the careers of local and national radio and television broadcasters.
Awards he has received include Louisville Magazine Top Broadcaster of the Year Award, City of Louisville Bill Price Day, the Louisville Defender Newspaper Professional Achievement Award, and the Y.E.S. Louisville Media Pioneer Award.
A native of Louisville, Bill is a member of the Kentucky and Southern Indiana Stroke Association and Louisville Arts Council. He is married to Angela Lee Price, and they have two adult sons, Brandon and Jonathan.
Bill suffered a serious stroke in May 2008 that affected the right side of his body. He was hospitalized for one month and underwent another six months of intensive rehabilitation. In this Jesus Saves Ministries Live radio interview conducted Monday, July 27th on blogtalkradio.com, Bill says that in his darkest hour he called on many names, those of his family members and even his wife, but it wasn't until he "called on the name of Jesus" that he found hope to make it through.
My guests Carrie Orman, Executive Director, Kentucky and Southern Indiana Stroke Association and my husband, Bill Price discussed the warning signs, risk factors for stroke, the third leading killer of Americans each year and the leading cause of adult disability. Bill Price is being honored at the KSISA Annual Extravaganza Tasting Event, Tuesday, August 25th at The Olmsted in Louisville as an advocate for stoke education in the community.
