A Prayer to the God Who Sees Me

Heavenly and All Wise Father, you are the God who sees me.  When others overlook, minimize, forget and dismiss me, yet you see me. From the rising of the sun, I say thank you!  To the going down of the same, I say thank you!  You are my Creator, and my Savior, and my Lord.  Thank you, Lord for loving me and those like me, and for giving us your tender mercies new every morning; for giving us attention, provision, and purpose.  You see our innermost thoughts, flaws and frailties yet you love us! Build us up, Father.  Strengthen us for the journey and for battle!  Give us hearts to obey your Word and glorify your name. I recognize that I have not been so good. I struggle even now.  My heart is heavy, and my soul grieves the error of my ways!  Forgive me!  Forgive those like me!  Draw us close to you again and use us with effectiveness throughout the number of our days.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Prayer Warriors, Give Yourselves A High Five!

"And He said to them, 'Which of you shall have a friend, and go to him at midnight and say to him, 'Friend, lend me three loaves; for a friend of mine has come to me on his journey, and I have nothing set before him'; and he will answer from within and say, 'Do not trouble me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in the bed; I cannot rise and give to you'?  I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give  him as many  as he needs.  So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you"' Luke 11:9 NKJV.

Prayer Warriors, give yourselves a "high five!" Do it not because you are so good, but because God is so good. He is worthy to be praised! He heals, delivers, sanctifies, sets free, and mostly importantly, Jesus saves!

A high five is more than what we do on Sunday mornings when the sermon gets good. A high five are the names of five people you are constantly sending up to high heaven in prayer! These are five people who will not let you talk to them about Christ, but you can pray for them. Ask, seek, and knock in your prayers as you tell the Lord about the needs of your five friends, relatives, co-workers, even your enemies. Pray in the name of Jesus. You are asking the One with all power on earth and in heaven to touch their lives when you pray in Jesus name for your friends and family, even your enemies to receive Christ.

Saul of Tarsus was a powerful enemy of Christian. No one could witness to him. He was full of hate. He persecuted Christians, but he met Jesus on the Road to Damascus and became one of the greatest proponents for Christianity who ever lived.

The Lord hears our requests when we ask, seek, and knock not because we are so good, but because of our stedfastness in prayer, "I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs (Luke 11:8).  Never doubt that God is able to do exceeding, abundantly more than we can ask or think according to the power that is at work within us (Ephesians 3:20).

Do not think your prayers are weak for the five people who are hard to reach and reject Christ. If they are hard, you "go hard" in your prayer life.  Ask, seek, and knock are really three different ways of doing the same thing.   In order words, you should ask, and ask, and keep on asking in prayer.  Now give yourself a "high five" and interceed to high heaven for your five people to be saved or reconnected to Jesus Christ today! Share their first names with us and we will pray for them too. There is power in prayer.

The Prayers of the Righteous Availeth Much

 Heavenly Father, Your Word tells us in James 4:2 that we do not have because we do not ask You, Oh Lord. Father, we're guilty  of needing and desiring, but still not asking in prayer. Please forgive our sins.  Father, what is it that we should be asking for today?
Lord, Should we be praying more fervently for the lost that they will come to know You as their Father in 2021? Should we pray more fervently for our children to grow strong in You and the power of Your might? Should we pray more fervently for our families, our ministries, our jobs, our churches; for health, education, and strength? For what should we pray? Lord, Please, put it on our lips today!

Should we pray for the sick and shut-in, the elderly, the lonely, and the bereaved? They need Your comfort, Your protection and Your strength.  Should we pray for mercy in Your court, the only court that matters.  There is so much that is wrong in the world, violence, addictions, natural disasters and disease. Only You can make it right! Lay it on our hearts by Your Holy Spirit that we may lay it at Your feet in prayer. We desire to stop offending You with the same ol, prayers for houses, cars, and material blessings! For Jesus has said  "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you" (Matthew 7:7).

Help us today, My Lord, to talk to You about things we have never talked about in prayer. This earth is Yours and the fullness thereof, and You know our thoughts from afar off! We repent from our wicked ways!  Renew within us a righteous spirit, and put Your words in our hearts, and Your power in our words!

Heavenly Father, We love and need You. Thank you for being present in the lives of your people, and for answering prayer. We have read where Daniel prayed (Daniel 9 & 10) and you responded with visions, and  where Elijah prayed (James 5:17) and it did not rain for 3 1/2 years, Lord, later he prayed and it began to rain.  You answered their effectual, fervent prayers.  We pray to be a righteous people by the precious blood of your Son Jesus.   We believe that the effectual, fervent prayers of the righteous availeth much.

A Prayer for Palm Sunday

Heavenly Father, Bless your Holy name! You are Yahweh, the one true and living God. We honor you today and forevermore! Thank you for bringing us through Lent and into Holy Week. Lord, as we celebrate Palm Sunday, we are reminded that even though the crowd cheered that day, Jesus knew the cross awaited him. He could have turned around, but yet he moved forward toward his destiny. He fulfilled your will for his life by becoming human and sufferin...g for us. We thank you for giving us your one and only son (John 3:16), and we thank Jesus for his obedience.

We ask for forgiveness of our sins, Father. Give us more character, courage and humility so that our lives might also bear witness to you. Please, Lord, guide our minds with your truth. Strengthen our lives by your Word and with the examples of Jesus. Help us follow the events of Passion (Holy) Week that others might gain greater insight and deeper understanding and appreciation for his sufferings, death, burial, and resurrection. Jesus died so that we will no longer be separated from you. Pour out your resources for ministry, to meet needs and lead people to Christ. Help us to draw closer to you and walk by the Spirit that we might not yield to the desires of the flesh. Save souls, we pray In Jesus name, Amen!

A Prayer for the Homeless

Heavenly Father, We come to you today on behalf of the least of these, particularly the homeless.  Forgive our sins, oh Lord, and hear our prayers!  "For the LORD hears the needy and does not despise his captive people"  (Psalm 69: 33). Help America and each one of us to realize there but by the grace of God go I.    Bless the homeless to receive justice in Your Court, Lord! "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace"  (Isaiah 9:6).   Rebuke Satan for Your Namesake, Oh Lord.  You are Jehovah Jireh, our Great and Awesome Provider.

We thank you for temporary housing and shelters, for all those who give tirelessly to feed, clothe, and house the homeless and poor.  Oh Lord, Don't let the heat of the summer sun blind your people to the homeless begging on street corners and sleeping at bus stops.  Don't let winter's brutal elements keep Your people from offering warmth to people who need it.  Protect the homeless sleeping under bridges and in the streets of our bustling cities.   Open the door of the church houses daily to receive them. Dwell among Your homeless people, we pray, even those who do not know You as Lord and Savior. Bring them into Your Building not made by hands.  We thank you that some will return to permanent housing and employment by your compassionate will.  In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray, Amen.

A Mother's Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Lord, we love You and adore You. Forgive our sins and those of our children. I come to you on behalf of mamas, grandmamas, "Big Mamas," "Get Mamas," "Nanas" and God Mothers everywhere, women of God submitted to Your way, Your will, and Your Word. Father, give them knowledge, wisdom and understanding to face life’s parenting challenges with dignity and discernment. Lord, when the load seems too heavy, help them remember that You are the burden bearer, that with You all things are possible.

Abba, when mamas, grandmamas, and Big Mamas cry out in the midnight hour on behalf of their children, help them recall the work of our ancestors, and the strength of womanhood from previous generations, and the godly women You've given as examples in Your Word.

Help them remember that African American women endured unjust and inhumane treatment, extreme hardships in this nation's history to protect and rear their children. Help them remember the unfeigned faith of Timothy’s grandmother Lois and his mother Eunice, women who instilled a steadfast faith in the young preacher Timothy. It was a faith that caused Paul to declare to in 2 Timothy 1:5,"I am persuaded that it is in thee also.”

When confronted with rebellious children and rebellious parents who neglect parenting responsibilities, help your mamas, grandmamas, and Big Mamas recall the prayer of our sister Dr. Renita Weems in the book, Showing Mary (page 177):

“When I am tempted to doubt myself
and question my gifts and experience,
Remind me, God, of all that I know,
And that which I don’t know that I
know.

Remind me who I am and whose I am.
Even when I hide behind
piety to
avoid doing what must be done,
and use you as an excuse for
indecision,
for lack of action, for silencing myself.

Love me enough
to lift the lid off my basket,
and order me to stop crouching in the dark,
Like a woman without a God.”

The Power of Persistent Prayer

I was asked recently, "How many times should we pray to God about the same thing?" God has given me the word that we need to be persistent in our prayers. Jesus tells us this in Luke 11:5-9 in the parable of the man who went to his friend at midnight for three loaves of bread. The Bible says that even if the man wouldn't open the door for the sake of friendship, he would open it because his neighbor was persistent.   The Bible says ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, and knock and the door will be open.  The NLT translation says keep on asking, keep on seeking, and keep on knocking.  There's power in persistent prayer!

The story of Hannah praying to conceive a child is a story of persistence in prayer (1 Samuel 1:1-28). Hannah didn't talk back to her  rival, Peninnah who made fun of her for being childless; nor her partner, Elkanah who thought he was better for her than 10 sons; nor her priest, Eli who thought she was drunk.  Hannah talked to Jehovah Jireh, her great and awesome Provider!  And soon Hannah conceived Samuel, one of the greatest prophets who ever lived.

The widow pleading before the unjust judge for justice is another example of persistence paying off (Luke 18:1-8). The widow had to go to a corrupt judge.  We can go to our heavenly Father (Ephesians 3:14).  The widow was a stranger.  We are God's children (John1:12).  The widow had no access to the judge.  We have constant access to God (Hebrews 10:19).  The widow came to the court of law.  We come to the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16).  The widow had no lawyer.  We have Jesus as our advocate (1 John 2:1).  The widow had to wear down the judge before he really listened.  We already know that God hears our requests (Psalm 4:3).  If this poor woman received what she deserved from a corrupt judge, how much more will we receive from our loving heavenly Father?  As Jesus illustrated, persistence pays off.  Keep on praying!

Romans 12:12 says, "Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer."

We know that God does not always answer prayers the way we want Him to or expect Him to, however, the good news is that in these instances of persistent prayer, God said "yes"! This suggests that we have not, in many cases, because we ask not persistently. 

When it comes to prayer, it's important that we are consistently and persistently asking God for the lost to be saved and for our prayer requests to line up with His will for our lives! Prayer is not getting your will in heaven.  It is getting God's will on earth.  1 John 5:14-15 states, "And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him...."  We serve a God who is able to do exceeding, abundantly above all we can ask or think!

Memorial Day Tribute In Loving Memory

Guardians Tag Ministry

As we observe the Memorial Day Holiday, we pause to  remember our loved ones who have gone on to glory.  We honor and salute our active service men and women, veterans, and those whose lives were lost in war.  We thank God for their strength, bravery, and commitment to serving and protecting our country.  May the Lord continue to be with them and their families.

Brothers and Sisters, we do not grieve as if there is no hope.  We have this blessed assurance from Scripture that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.  Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life.  He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die (John 11:25-26).  Jesus said, "Do not let your hearts be troubled.  Trust in God; trust also in me.  In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you may also be where I am" (John 14:1-4).
 
Though we may miss our family members, friends and loved ones on earth, we can rejoice knowing that we will see them again since anyone who dies in Jesus Christ lives in heaven.  Revelation 14:13 states, "Then I heard a voice from heaven say, 'Write:  blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.'  'Yes,' says the Spirit, 'they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.'"   What glorious benefits of salvation we have! 

Remembering our dearly departed family members, active military, and veterans by reflecting on their godly influence in our lives is one of the many ways to give honor to God for his blessings toward us!  Have a blessed Memorial Day Holiday.  Jesus saves!

Heavenly Father, we thank you for all of the grace and mercy you have bestowed upon us.  We thank you for allowing us to live in one of the greatest nations in history at one of the greatest times in history.  We understand the awesome responsibility that you have given us to elect our own leaders. Oh Father, we pray that as we approach Election Day, that you will guide us with your divine insight and wisdom to choose those leaders who are after your own heart.  Help us to choose leaders who will govern according to your will and way.  Oh Lord, please bless each of the candidates and guide our chosen leaders by your divine providence.  Empower them with hearts for all of the people, especially those who are downtrodden and forgotten, locked up and locked out, and for the defenseless. 

Oh Lord, indeed you have given us an awesome responsibility, so I beseech you to help us to move out in mass as a mighty army inspired by you to every polling place come rain or shine. Mobilize us, Oh God as one body acting in unison to bring about your divine will in this country. We humbly place ourselves into your hands knowing that no matter who becomes president, senator, judge, or elected official, who has confessional authority, that Jesus is still on the throne and your will will be done. It is in the matchless and marvelous name of Jesus I pray.  Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father, We humble ourselves as your Church under your mighty hand. Asking you to forgive us for our sins and shortcomings, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Let us draw near to you with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts examined from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with living water. We pray Your Word dwell in us richly. Fill us with the knowledge of your will oh God. We pray for all wisdom and spiritual understanding in the Church, that we may live and conduct ourselves in a manner worthy of you, fully pleasing you, and being fruitful in every good work for your Glory. God renew our spirit and our minds that we put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering: bearing with and forgiving one another. Bring your Church together in the unity of Faith. Help us to respect, encourage and recognize those who labor among us. Teach us to love and not hate for their work in your Kingdom. Father put your Church on one accord that we all speak the same thing, with no divisions among us, standing fast in your Holy Spirit, striving together in faith to win lost souls for your Kingdom.

We come against all murmuring, complaining, and walking after our own lusts. Help us to be rich in good works, ready to give and willing to share. We pray that the whole body be knit and joined together in your Love. Oh God we pray for every Angel of The Church, on an assignment to Pastor your Flock. We pray for every leader that submits to there authority as they serve you God. Preparing your people for the Bride’s Groom is coming and we want to be ready. As we run with endurance the race that is set before us, setting our minds on things above and not on things on the earth. But pressing toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God. Putting on the whole armor of God that we may stand against the devil. That we will speak forth Your Word with great boldness and that you will stretch forth your hand to heal, that signs and wonders may be done in the Name of Your Son Jesus. We give you all the Glory and Honor In Jesus Name, Amen!

Prayer for Successful School Year

We're praying for our kids as they begin a new school year. 

Dear Lord,

Children are our greatest treasure.  We thank you for the awesome responsibility to rear, train up, and educate our children. We thank you for the privilege to carry eveything to you in prayer, particularly the welfare of the next generation. 

Father, bless and protect our children this school year, we pray.  Keep them from all hurt, harm, and danger. As they travel to and from school, anoint the school bus drivers to transport their precious cargo safety.  In the classroom,  provide them with all that they will need to complete their assignments.  Give them the best teachers, educators, and administrators possible, people who will go the extra mile to ensure a quality education for our kids.  Put parents, teachers, and mentors on one accord to achieve successful outcome for our kids. 

Father God, Please close reading gaps, and math gaps, the economic gap and any other gaps that have our kids lagging behind.  Work in the lives of parents, and single parents so that they are able to spend quality time, and quantity time with their kids reviewing and helping with homework. 

We pray also for the spiritual welfare of our kids.  Please save many in this new school year, allowing them to walk with You, oh Lord, at early ages.  And may they grow to give you the praise, honor and glory for every good and perfect gift, including the gift of a quality education, college education, and post secondary education.  By your Holy Spirit who is our comforter, teacher, and guide, and in the name of your precious Son Jesus we pray, Amen!!!

It was Jesus Saves Ministries Day at the movies on Saturday, August 29th! A group of us put our war clothes on and went to see the movie WAR ROOM at the Carrmike Cinemas Stony Brook 20. The movie is a must see! Get your group together, family, church members and friends and support this movie on the power of prayer! It will make you laugh. It will make you cry, but most of all, it will make you more inspired to pray! Jesus Saves Ministries is celebrating our 10th anniversary so I brought along giveaways for everyone, great new gospel music CDs by Marvin Sapp, Israel & New Breed, JJ Hairston, Risen, and local artist Michael Young and In God's Presence. Break Every Chain Prayer Journal

The Bible gives us a number of promises for answered prayer and one of them is asking in agreement with God’s will, “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us” (1 John 5:14).

A special thanks to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and to everyone who submitted prayers to the Jesus Saves Ministries’ prayer initiative, “Forward: 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting,” and to all who prayed along with us for 21 days in January 2014.   The theme was a portion of the “Model Prayer,” also known as “The Lord’s Prayer,” in Luke 11:2 and Matthew 6:10, “Your Kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”  Jesus never intended The Lord’s Prayer to be recited verbatim, but rather as a model for effective, life-changing relationship with God.  The significance of our focal passages is dependency and submission to the will of God.  Also, the emphasis was not just to pray, but also fast as Jesus stated in Matthew 17:21 that some things will only come about with prayer and fasting.

The online component of this prayer initiative was coupled with a local community component, the Break Every Chain Prayer Breakfast.  There was a powerful move of God that day as attendees poured out their hearts to God with heart-felt prayers, and testimonies, and also by sharing the love of Jesus Christ with one another.  Out of that prayer breakfast was birth the "Break Every Chain" prayer journal.  By faith, we believe God has heard our prayers for His Kingdom to come and His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.

A Prayer for Our Children - October 29th

Dear Heavenly Father, We come to you today and ask for forgiveness of all our sins, even the ones we were unaware that we committed.  Most of all Lord we want to thank you, thank you for past blessings, present blessings and future blessings.

Lord as parents, let us abide by Your words in Matthew 19:14, "Jesus said, Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these."  We have the responsibility to teach and bring up our children to worship and believe in You.  We ask that we be childlike in our love and trust of You.  We ask Lord that You will continually bless them, keep them, free them from bullying and harm, free them from promiscuity, free them from harmful influence, and free them from drugs and alcohol.  We ask that they turn to You when they are suffering and struggling, and that they will always put You first.  In the blessed name of your son, Jesus Christ.  AMEN!

Here is a short prayer I give to some of my grandchildren and young cousins: WASH YOUR HANDS AND SAY YOUR PRAYERS.  BECAUSE GERMS AND JESUS ARE EVERYWHERE.

A Prayer to End Sexual Promiscuity and Abortion - October 24th

Most loving and gracious FATHER: I come to you humbly as I know how on behalf of teen girls and teen moms, ladies and women, boys and men who are living in sexual promiscuity. Father, we know that sex and all those sexual desires outside of marriage are only temporary “feel good” fixes because as Your Word says in 1 John 2:17, “For we know that the world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.” (NIV) Father, In the name of Jesus, for that teen girl or woman contemplating abortion as her only option; in the name of Jesus, for those parents who are taking their children to abortion clinics; in the name of Jesus, for that woman who aborted for the sake of a man.  Lord, please shower down Your mercy on the doctors, nurses and midwives who are performing abortions. 

Father, we need YOU like never before. Help us Father to stand for purity and abstinence. Father, give us strength to just say no and to wait on You for that man or that woman that You have prepared for us in holy matrimony.  Lord, please chip away the hardening from around our hearts and minds so we can hear and obey the true and loving Counselor that You have left with us. Galatians 5:16-17 admonish, “…walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.” (NIV)  Father, You delivered Rahab, the prostitute, David, the adulterer, the Samaritan woman, and so many others. It was not so long ago that You delivered me too, so, I am throwing myself once again at Your feet of mercy.  In the name of Jesus, please convict us in our hearts and in our minds and destroy everything that which is keeping us from living in Your holiness.  I pray all these in the merciful name of Jesus the Christ.  Amen.

We come to You as humbly as we know how, thanking You for being our Sovereign God, who sees and knows all!  We realize that You have made us in Your image, for Your purpose and glory, and we praise You for loving us, and leading our footsteps. Your Word tells us that we should train up a child in the way they should go, and when they get old the will not depart from it.  Your Word is quick, powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword, and everything that You speak gives life to us.  We ask in the name of Jesus that you continue to lead all single parents to follow what You say, regardless to society's standards.  We trust that there is nothing too hard for You to do, and even when we don't know what to do, our eyes are on You!  So right now, show us what we should do, according to Your Word!

Remind each single parent that, just like You told the children of Israel, in Deuteronomy 11:18-19, " Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up!"  Father God, show parents how to instill and teach Your ways, as You teach the parents, to pray, admonish, and show respect.  We pray that You bind up every evil spirit, that speaks into the ear of the parent or child, or shows them things that appear to be right to do but are not!  Let the Blood cover everything that the devil tries to do, IN JESUS' NAME!   We count it done!  AMEN!

Prayer of Deliverance for Women In Addiction and Bondage - October 22nd

Dear Heavenly Father, this prayer is being lifted up on behalf of women everywhere in the world who are broken, women who have fallen and cannot lift themselves up, women who are suffering from depression and anxiety, women under the bondage of shame from divorce, bankruptcy, abortion, prostitution, sexual exploitation, low self esteem; women suffering from addictions of shopping, alcohol and drugs (over the counter, prescription and street) and abuse by intimate partner (psychological, physical, spiritual and financial), women who have one foot in your House and the other in the world, women who are unemployed, women who are looking for love in all the wrong places, women who have lost all their self respect and self worth. Lord God, in the name of Jesus, please have mercy on us and extend Your mercy and grace to women lifted up in this petition.

Father Lord, it is only by Your grace and mercy that I have been delivered, released and redeemed from bondages, guilt and addictions, and for that I say, thank you Lord. Lord God, please have mercy, please extend your grace, please touch each and every woman being lifted up under this petition every where in the world. As Romans 5:5 tells us that hope maketh not ashamed, and Father God, you did it for me, and I know you will do it for these women because I have hope and faith in You and am not ashamed of the things You have delivered me from. Lord, You have redeemed me and as Psalm 107:2 declares, let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy. Father, your Word in Psalm 120:1 tells me that in my distress I cry unto you and you hear me.

Father, that I know because you have heard my cries often and have answered. Dear God, I am humbly asking to please, please, please deliver and release these women, in the name of Jesus, in the name of Jesus, in the name of Jesus. We know that after 12 years you delivered the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5. Lord God, I am thanking you in advance because I know, yes I know that women will be delivered, released and redeemed, all in the name of Jesus. Thank you precious Father, thank you dear God. Thank you Father. Amen.

A Prayer to Break Chains of Domestic Violence - October 21st

Oh Lord, our Lord, how excellent is your name in all of the earth. What is man that you are mindful of us? God, you are our healer, you are our redeemer, and you are our peace. You have made us in your image. Yes, we are wonderfully and marvelously made yet there are people who are battered and abused physically, emotionally, and mentally. We come acknowledging our complicity in domestic violence when we fail to respond to their need to be free. Forgive us for looking the other way and help us to reflect the love of Christ in both word and deed.

Now Lord, we come asking that you restore the joy, self-esteem, and peace of those who have been beaten into submission and imprisoned by the bondage of abuse. Free them, strengthen them, empower them and heal their wounded and broken spirits. We come praying on behalf of those who have no voice; we come on behalf of those affected by child abuse, spousal abuse, and abuse of our seniors. Don’t loose the chains but break the chains that bound them. Take the shackles off their feet so they can dance like David danced…encouraging themselves in Lord.

While your people are in the healing process, help us who are stronger to be our brother’s and sister’s keeper so that they know they are not alone. Give them a hope and a future for your Word says hope does not disappoint. Give them a hope that will enable them to cope and receive the full manifestation of deliverance, healing, peace, comfort and strength. The joy of the Lord is their strength. Remind them that you will never leave them nor forsake them. Use us as instruments of your love and healing for people shackled by the chain of domestic violence.

Break every chain, break every chain, break every chain. In the name of Jesus they have and we have the victory. For at the sound of that name demons tremble and the devil is a defeated foe. It is in the matchless, marvelous and chain-breaking name of Jesus, our Lord, Savior and soon coming King that we pray this prayer in faith, Amen.

A Prayer to Break the Chains of Unemployment - October 20th

Heavenly Father, God of all creation, maker and sustainer of all that is.  We do humble ourselves before you this day in total submission to your will.  We thank you Lord for all the blessings you have richly lavished upon us.  We thank you for a reasonable portion of health and strength.  We thank you, Oh Lord, for the multitude of your tender mercies. Yes Lord we thank you for everything!

Father God, we ask You for the forgiveness of our sins.  We pray for the spirit to do your will in a way that is pleasing unto You.  Sometimes oh Lord we find ourselves caught up in our own selfish ways.  We find ourselves doing things to please ourselves and not to please You.  We find ourselves sometimes, Oh Lord, pleasing man without due consideration of your will for our lives.  Father please forgive us.  Renew a right spirit within us oh Lord and lead us to do that which is most pleasing to You. 

Father we thank you that even in our selfishness you still found room to bless us.  You continue to provide our daily bread, You’ve provided us with a roof over our heads and have provided us with clothes on our backs. Oh Lord you’ve been faithful!  Yes Lord, you have been faithful to us, and we say thank you!  Thank you, Lord for being faithful to us!

Now Lord, there are some among us here and throughout this nation who, for various reasons, have lost our jobs and find ourselves unemployed.  Oh Lord, we understand the value of work.  We know that work was commanded by you even before Adam and Eve decided to sin in the garden.  We know Lord that work is good and earnestly desire to be gainfully employed. We desire Lord to have an acceptable means to pay our bills and to meet all of our commitments.  We desire Lord to have the means to take care of the needs of our family.  We desire Lord, also, to have the means to contribute financially to the building of your Kingdom. 

Oh Lord, we humbly beseech you, right now In the Name of Jesus, to open up doors of opportunity for us that no man can shut.  God please Bless every Business that hires us and bless our Managers and supervisors.  Bless them in a way that you will get all of the Glory and we will continually praise your name. Help us, Lord to appreciate what we have and what you are going to give us.  Help us to have a better work ethic. Help us, Lord, to Give an honest day’s work for a fair wage.   No cheating on our time sheets and no watching the clock rather than doing our work.  Help us to understand that we should approach our work as though we are doing it for you. Oh Father, hear our prayer and Bless each and every one of us who is unemployed with Good Jobs that are in keeping with your Holy will for our lives. In Jesus name, Amen.
