This week's Sunday school highlight is from 1 Samuel 1:9-20, entitled Faithful In Grief, the story of the barren Hannah praying earnestly for a son. My guest is Bro. Alan Alston Sr, author of the book, 205 Thoughts From the Heart of A Man. Alan grew up in the Russell neighborhood in the Beecher Terrace Housing Project in Louisville. He is a husband, father and grandfather. He is a graduate of JCTC. Alan is a member of St. Stephen Church. The book of poetry, first published in 2008, is a book "from the brokenness of a man who has accepted his mistakes and successes," he writes on the back cover. With poetry entitled, Save Me (p.12); I Messed Up (p.36); Pray For Me (p. 136); Faith Mends Broken Vases (p. 173); and Mercy ( pgs 199-200), it is apparent that Alan Alston has been acquainted with grief and knows our Savior, the God of all Comfort. Tune in to 1240 Love WLLV Thursday at 9:30 or watch by Facebook Live!
Also, you're invited to meet author Alan Alston Sr. this Saturday!! He will be hosting a book signing of his book of poetry, 205 Thoughts From the Heart of A Man, Saturday, September 7th, 12-4 PM at The Life Conference Suite, 2001 W.
