Grow and Go with Whispers of God's Love!

Spiritual formation is the process whereby Christians are mended, saved and transformed into the image of Jesus Christ, in order that they might continue to comprehend, defend, and recommend Jesus to the world. Every believer has been called to grow up! The Bible has something to say about the importance of moving from bibs to aprons, from being fed to feeding others. The book of Ephesians has a lot to say to us about spiritual maturity. In it, the Apostle Paul gives practical advice for growing in our faith and sharing our faith with the world.
Ephesians 2:3 tells us we were once separated from God through sin. But having received God’s Gift of salvation, His only begotten Son, we have been “put right,” with Him, saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ (vs 8-9). Because of God’s great love for us, therefore, believers have been mended.

God’s love for us is so great that Paul prayed for the church at Ephesus, that the church might be strengthen with the power to understand, or comprehend it (Ephesians 3: 14-19).

Paul reminds us that we are in spiritual battle. Our adversary is Satan. He instructs us in Ephesians 6 to put on the whole armor of God so that we can stand against the wiles of the enemy. Regarding our faith then, it is the duty of all believers to defend it.

Paul says “Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel…as I should” (Ephesians 6:19-20). Believers should not only grow in the faith, but share the faith with others. We should recommend it.
