For those observing the 40 days of Lent, the third Thursday, represents the half-way point in our time of spiritual reflection, prayer and repentance. The midpoint of Lent is traditionally viewed as a time of celebration that occurs on the fourth 4⃣ Sunday. The point of Laetare Sunday or Rose Sunday, as it is called, is to provide encouragement as we progress to the end of Lent.
