Bill has held positions as sales manager and program director for the stations. He is an award-winning broadcaster and 2008 Stellar Award nominee.

"We're re-focusing on servicing our core listeners, adults who have grown up listening to the stations, and on becoming more interactive with churches to address their immediate broadcasting needs. Additionally, we will be re-establishing strong community ties, with an emphasis on non-profit organizations that do great work like the Urban League, NAACP, and Lincoln Foundation. Look for the return of major summer events," states Bill Price.

Aren't Some Churches Just After Your Money?

By: Rev. Angela Lee Price

"Now there is great gain in godliness with contentment, for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content. But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs." 1 Timothy 6: 6-10

In the gospel stage play Church Mess, coming to Louisville, Kentucky Saturday, January 23rd, there is a "money hungry deacon." When I read that phrase in the play's description, I thought of Deacon Ernest Frye in the sitcom, Amen. Deacon Frye (Sherman Hemsley from The Jeffersons fame) use to come up with some rather unorthodox methods and schemes for raising money, growing ministries, and advancing the church. Amen usually had a happy ending each episode. Deacon Frye would get caught by either his son-in-law the pastor (played by Clifton Davis), his daughter (Anna Marie Horsford), or one of the church members. Then, he'd give his usual "See, what happened was" line, beg forgiveness, and all was well.

When it comes to money, all is not well. Money issues are a true source of mess and confusion in the church. It is one of the reasons people don't go to church, church hop, and have misconceptions about God, that He's a Santa Claus, bell hop, or genie whose sole purpose is to make one wealthy, healthy and wise.

Dr. Eric Redmond states on pages 59-62 of the book, Where Are All the Brothers? Straight Answers to Men's Questions About the Church that although critics have valid points about the overemphasis on money and giving in some churches...
1) No church or organizaiton can function without money;
2) Money is mentioned in the Bible as part of church life ( 2 Cor. 9:7, Acts 2:44-45);
3) The church has a way of doing things collectively with money that an individual cannot accomplish with money by pooling together funds collected by "tithes and offerings"; and
4) The Bible teaches that faithful ministers of the gospel are to be supported financially by the people whom they serve (1 Cor. 9:1-15) and 1 Tim. 5:17-18).

What are some of the ways we can minimize the mess in the church relative to money matters? Join our Church Mess group discussion on the Jesus Saves Social Network and post your comment.

Gospel Stage Play to Do Back Door Evangelism

By: Min. Angela Lee Price
This first month of 2010, please join me in fasting and praying specifically for souls to be saved in our communities. I am asking the Lord to give all with a heart for evangelism a new boldness to witness to those who are lost and to those who have drifted away from the church by inviting them to a gospel stage play.

Saturday, January 23rd affords those of us in the Louisville and Southern Indiana area an opportunity to witness in a unique way through an indirect, "back door" evangelism approach with the gospel stage play, Church Mess. The play's producers, Pastors Chad and Alicia Robinson Cooper, have partnered with several local churches and will extend an invitation to all who attend to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. Representatives from partnering churches will be prepared to receive those who come forward.

Church Mess features the religious church mother, the moneyhungry deacon, the financially strapped college student that is having an affair with the deacon, the choir member that lives an alternative lifestyle, the members that are in love with the pastor, the "down-low brother" that's hooked on pornography, and the playboy minister of music. While some, if not all of these issues may be prevalent in today's church, this play also portrays the church as the best institution in the world for complete healing and deliverance. Although, many churches are confronted with "Church Mess," the universal theme of the production is the power of God through deliverance.

"Church Mess is starting a revival through professional urban theater as thousands across the nation stand in line to see and experience the power of deliverance through comedy and drama," states Chad Cooper.

Though several plays have targeted the church community in recent months, none have opened the doors of the church. Pastors Chad and Alicia Robinson Cooper have been performing the play for five years, and each time they have extended the invitation to receive Christ to playgoers. Louisville will make their 77th performance. It is my prayer that you will pray with me regarding this unique evangelistic approach to meet people where they are and introduce, or re-introduce them to Christ, as the case by be, that the Lord prepares the hearts of playgoers to receive salvation and/or reconciliation by power of His Holy Spirit.

Brit Hume: Jesus Can Tame You, Tiger

"The extent to which he can recover seems to me depends on his faith," said Hume. "He is said to be a Buddhist. I don't think that faith offers the kind of redemption and forgiveness offered by the Christian faith. My message to Tiger is, 'Tiger turn to the Christian faith and you can make a total recovery and be a great example to the world."
